Choice of Technology
Apps4Rent builds its cloud desktops on two leading technologies: Microsoft and Citrix. Each has unique advantages, with the Citrix solution commanding a slight premium for its superior performance on graphics-intensive tasks.
Choice of Modes
With Apps4Rent’s Microsoft virtual desktops, you can choose between two modes. Session-based desktops provide pre-installed applications in a shared space, while dedicated desktops give you the freedom to install your own software, including Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise.
CPU, RAM, and Storage
Every Apps4Rent plan includes a set quantity of vCPUs, RAM, and storage. You can easily add more storage to any plan or upgrade to a larger one. GPU processing can be added separately, and our sales staff can assist if you require Solid State Drives (SSD).
GPU Enhanced VDIs
Apps4Rent is one of the few providers offering hosted desktops with dedicated GPUs. These significantly improve performance for compute-intensive applications like 3D design and also enhance the multi-monitor experience.
Choice of Windows OS
As a default, Apps4Rent provides the Windows 10 interface on your virtual desktop. If you prefer a Windows 8 or Windows 7 look-and-feel, our support desk can configure this for you after you complete your order.
Choice of Office Suite
Apps4Rent includes a free Office version with all virtual desktops. We also offer the latest Microsoft 365 suites as add-ons, or you can install your own subscription-based copy of Office 365 Enterprise E3 or higher.
Adding Users or
Desktops
When you purchase a dedicated virtual desktop from Apps4Rent, you can add users to the same desktop at a discount or provision separate desktops for each user. The account administrator can easily manage either solution based on workload and budget.
Active Directory Integration/VPN
Apps4Rent provides complete support for integrating your virtual desktops with an existing Active Directory and for setting up a secure VPN. Our technical team ensures a smooth, secure, and compliant configuration tailored to your IT policies.
IP Address of Virtual Desktops
All Apps4Rent virtual desktops use US-based IPs from our New Jersey data center. Hosted Desktops share an IP, while Dedicated Desktops get a unique one. We also offer country-specific or dynamic IPs; contact our experts for a customized solution.

Time Period for Subscription
Our virtual desktops are offered on a monthly or annual basis. If you wish to get resources by the hour, we can offer those on Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
